ABOUT ME
My name is Emma Gersho and I have had a passion for filmmaking since I was 12 years old. I was drawn to the idea of telling a story through the medium of a video. Creating and editing videos allowed me to tell and share my own stories with the world. In addition, I had always been storytelling since I could speak my first sentence, hence another reason why I went into the realm of filmmaking. I graduated from University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies in Spring 2021. With that degree came tons of experience under my belt including a five week film production study abroad program, three internships, and an Avid Media Composer certification. Additionally, in the Fall of 2020, I served as creative producer for Duck TV and the president of the University of Oregon Womxn & Film Organization. After graduating, I embarked on a journey working as an intern at Walt Disney World, augmenting my customer service experience working for a powerhouse corporation. Going into the fall of 2022, I moved to LA. Experiences since I have moved down here include: freelance editing social media shorts for Team Whistle, an Admin Assistant for a TikToker and doing PA work for various projects. I was also briefly an I/O Media Assistant at BOND where I posted trailers, sorted files in the correct servers and transcoded files. Currently freelance editing for the non-profit Life Chronicles, working part time at Marshalls and doing some passion projects (shorts and music videos) to add to my reel. I am continuing to actively seek a role in the realm of film production/media creation.
